Most business problems, once you get to a certain level of skill, aren’t business problems. They’re emotional or personal problems.
Over the past few years I’ve been lucky enough to spend time around some of the best entrepreneurs in the world. I’ve heard brilliant people give brilliant advice to other brilliant people…only to see them not follow through on that advice.
I’ve seen proof that money doesn’t buy happiness. I’ve also seen proof that money does make happiness easier.
I’ve seen rich men and women struggle with their health and weight. I’ve seen lean healthy men and women struggle with money issues. I’ve met people who seem to “have it all” only to find out their marriage is a wreck.
It’s extremely rare to find that mythical unicorn who seems to have actual balance in their life.
The reality is no one is perfect. Perfection doesn’t exist. Believe me. I spent the first 26 years of my life chasing it. There was no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. No magical leprechauns. No end. Just the recurring pain of never feeling like you’re quite enough.
So what are we supposed to do about it? Do we just accept the extreme ups and downs that come with the territory of being a human?
I don’t think we have to. I believe there’s a way to make a lot of money, build a great business, maintain amazing relationships, and do what matters to you most.
But there’s a catch. It’s not easy.
It’s not easy at all…but it’s worth it.
The first step is to create your Ideal Day. Once you have that vision you can create a life that makes your Ideal Day your everyday reality.
These are exercises I’ve used in my own life to live my Ideal Day most days of the week.
